Many locals will know David Cochran for his history blog “Blawenburg Tales.” Others will remember him as an upbeat, innovative educator who worked in the Montgomery Township School District as a high school vice principal, teacher, and in other roles.

At age 79, Cochran has produced and published his first work of fiction in the comedy murder-mystery genre. It’s titled “Where Are They? The Missing Men from Marlowe Mansion.”

AUTHOR

About David Cochran.

I've been a writer and educator all my life.  I hold a BA and MA in Education from Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey) and an EdD from Rutgers University. I was the sports editor of the Ocean City High School Billows and the Trenton State College Signal before my career in education.

As an educator, I was a teacher (grades 4-8), a middle school supervisor, high school vice principal, K-12 Director of Math, Science, and Technology, and Community School Director.  I worked in Hopewell Elementary School, Lawrence Township Intermediate School, and mostly in Montgomery Township School District.  I was also a college professor for eight years at Georgian Court University.  My K-12 and university teaching and administration were all in New Jersey.

I've owned three companies involved in writing—Fruition Publications, HyperMedia Associates, and Daval Publications.  Each dealt with different content and occurred at different times in my life.  I've published three books with Fruition, written 30 newsletters with Hypermedia Associates, and published 60 publications with Daval.  I've had several books on educational technology published by Southwestern and McGraw Hill. In addition, I've had lots of articles published in educational journals.  I have published one book on Amazon—Ajax Bigelow's Science Journal - Stuff.  As you can see, I like to write.

My blog, Tales of Blawenburg, was swirling around in my head for years.  I learned a lot about Blawenburg just by living in an old house on the eastern side of the village for more than 50 years.  I learned more about Blawenburg by writing the latest two versions of the history of Blawenburg Reformed Church.  I also gained stories and understanding of the village by reading whatever I could find about it and talking with the "old-timers," many of whom are no longer with us.  You can find a link for Tales of Blawenburg on the Home page.

My most recent project is the publication of my cozy comedy mystery, Where Are They? You can find information about the book and read an excerpt on this site.

I hope you enjoy my writing.  Feel free to comment on the blogs or you can email me thoughts about my stories at davidc99@aol.com.

Happy reading!

Dave

"Where Are They was an easy read.  Riveting.

I really liked the characters."
